Leum Engineering, Inc. was founded by Grant Leum. Grant began his career as an engineer for Rite Hite Corporation in the early 1990's. At Rite Hite, his roles expanded to that of manager and eventually product development manager. During his tenure at Rite Hite Corporation, Grant helped invent and patent several new products. He also designed and supported many of their current product lines in the loading dock business.

In 2002, Grant Leum founded Engination, LLC., a consulting
engineering company focused on product development for small companies. As opportunities arose to begin designing and
manufacturing new variations
on existing loading dock products,
Grant refocused the company's direction to concentrate more on manufacturing than consulting.
This shift led to the corporate name change to Leum Engineering. |
In 2006, Leum Engineering, Inc. developed the Z-Deck™ truck leveler, which revolutionized the way automotive drop decks trailers could be loaded. This product line as well as the company's core competency of engineered loading dock solutions brought Leum Engineering back in contact with Rite Hite to create a partnership that could allow both parties to bring the best products and services in the industry to market.
Leum Engineering's corporate sales and engineering are located in Excelsior, Minnesota, just west of Minneapolis.
